Best 1 year old Birthday Gifts

Claire's first birthday is this week!  I can't believe it!  I have been thinking about what to get her and am pretty stumped because fortunately she doesn't really need anything!  We have lucked out and had lots of hand me down clothes and toys and she has all of Charlotte's old toys, clothes, shoes, etc.  However I want to get her SOMETHING to unwrap so I have been looking at a lot of different toys.  It's almost overwhelming the amount of toys out there.  So I have compiled a list of our favorites and some neat ones that I have come across if you're on the hunt for some 1 year old bday gifts too!

Leap Frog Tea Set

This tea set was a first birthday gift and Charlotte has loved it ever since!  She still plays with the set daily!  I can't get the teapot songs out of my head either.

My First Purse

My sweet niece got this recently for her first birthday and loved it!  Charlotte loved it too and begged me for one even though she has most of those items already just not in a set.  I might snag this one for Claire though so she can have her "own purse", and it's only 13$!

Octopus and stacking cups bath toys

Charlotte got the Octopus for her birthday and Claire got the cups for Christmas.  They both play with them EVERY night in the bathtub!  The Octopus floats and water doesn't get in it so it does not get moldy and gross.  I periodically wash their bath toys in the dishwasher.

Melissa and Doug School Bus

I bought this for Charlotte when she was 9 months old because she LOVED opening and closing things.  This precious wooden bus comes with all of the people pictured and Charlotte would carry one person in each hand everywhere she went.  Both girls still enjoy this bus and we have since added a subway train to our wood toy collection.

Triangular Crayons

I love these because Duh, they don't roll off of the high chair!  #winning  Now if you can keep your one year old from eating them please let me know your secrets!

Duplo Blocks

I've shared these before but they're another favorite around here and are the perfect 1st birthday gift!

Haba Animal Stacking Trio

Another wood toy set!  They're my favorite!  We have a set similar and the girls like to mix and match the animals.  Claire also likes to chew on their heads.

Wooden Animal Magnets

This is actually something that we don't have but it is on my list for Claire.  I think it would be fun to let her put them on the fridge while I'm busy making dinner.....well maybe!  We have a good bit of puzzles that have been passed down but not any magnets.

Swing

This is my sweet niece Annie!

Fortunately since we do live on base, there are parks everywhere.  There's one across the street and both girls love to swing.  If it weren't for the park being so close then we would absolutely have these!  They're currently only 16$!

Lawn Mower

We do not have one of these because we don't really have room to keep anymore outdoor toys (according to Daddy).  However our neighbors have this mower and Charlotte has always been obsessed with it.  She's notorious from running off with theirs.  

Poppin Pals

This was one of Charlotte's old toys and now Claire loves it!  She can't make the animals pop up yet but she loves to close them.  I open them, and she closes them....over and over and over again!

Who knew Toddlers would want to carry their own stuff?  Charlotte loved her small book bag at 1 year old and still does!

Name Puzzle

Charlotte got one of these for Christmas and has loved playing with it.  She is slowly learning her letters but knows where they go now!

VTech Sit to Stand

A sweet coworker of mine passed this VTech walker down to me when I found out that I was pregnant with Charlotte.  It is another one of our MOST LOVED toys!  It's currently in our bedroom and the girls play with it while I get dressed.

First Slide

I used to Nanny and the little boy that I kept got one for his first birthday.  He straight up loved it.  They put it in their playroom and he went up and down it all day long.  Cliff would probably kill me if one of these showed up at the house because we don't have a yard of our own (base living) but I know that the girls would love it.

Little People Playhouse

I bought this little portable doll house for Charlotte last summer right before Claire was born.  I wanted her to have something new to play with while I was busy with the baby.  I love that it is easy to carry around so we took it with us to the beach and even Claire played with it.  She wants to be just like her big sister.

Learn and Groove Musical Table

While the songs may get annoying, it keeps my kids entertained!  I like that the legs can come off so the table top just sits on the floor too.

Push Around Buggy

We have the Step2 version but it's the same concept.  Our steering wheel just broke off though so it's currently out of commission.

Cozy Coupe

The ultimate classic one year old gift!  We bought Charlotte's used, (hence why is is princess themed) I prefer gender neutral big toys in case you know, we have a boy one day!  This has and will always be a favorite toy.  I can even remember playing in mine when I was little!

Busy Ball Table

While we do not have this table either, my niece does and loves it!  It looks like a lot of fun.  Water can be put in the table too!

Y Pewi Bike

We have one of these that was passed down to us!  While they're learning to walk, it is really easy to push.  Like almost too easy so the little ones end up running with it.   Then, as they get older they can ride on it!
